about

In 2008 Dearth released its debut EP "You Never Meant Much". After playing multiple shows in support of its release, the band resumed writing in 2009 for a new release. In the years that followed turmoil cursed the band's musical progress. In 2010 the band went on a two year hiatus and went without much communication between members during that time. In 2012 the band reunited and began playing shows once more. Again new song ideas were in the works but no complete songs ever came to fruition.

In 2014, after playing a show in their hometown of Haverhill, Massachusetts, the members of Dearth stopped communicating once again. There was no real reason for it, it just happened. Months later a final show was planned to put the band to rest but that was soon cancelled due to certain member's other priorities. At this point there will never be a second Dearth EP. All the music written from 2009 to 2014 will never be finished or released in a proper studio format.

This album is a collection of all the demos from 2009 to 2014, showing various stages of songs and revisions as well as riffs and ideas. It is meant to give the fans a taste of what a new Dearth album might have sounded like. It is "What Could Have Been..."
